WBMP Format

WBMP Format explained

First two bytes:	0
Third byte:		Width in pixels
Fourth byte:		Height in pixels

The WBMP data is stored at bit-level. This means that each byte contains 8 pixels.
Bit value 0 is black
Bit value 1 is white (read: transparent)

Suppose we'd have a WBMP of width 72 pixels, and height 28 pixels, each row of pixels
would be (72 / 8 =) 9 bytes. The height would remain 28 so the data size in total 
would be (9 * 28 =) 252 bytes.

Suppose we'd have a WBMP of width 74 pixels, and height 28 pixels, each row of pixels
would be (74 / 8 =) 9 and the remaining two pixels would also take a byte. So each row
counts 10 bytes. The height would remain 28 so the data size in total would be 
(10 * 28 =) 280 bytes.

The examples above make clear that an image with a pixel width that can be divided by 8 
is the most efficient WBMP.

=======================================================================================

Suppose we would have a WBMP of 72 * 28 pixels, the total WBMP size would be :

4 bytes (header) + 252 bytes (data size) = 256 bytes.

This information should get you going, if you want to create real-time WBMP images for 
example, like the hitcounter on the Hicon WAP site.
